This jackpot is intended to finance the extension work for drinking water supply network in the political capital.
This was a result of a negotiation undertaken in recent months with the American consortium on the instruction of the President of the Republic.
The agreement has been finalized with the active support of the Government of Cameroon and the presence in Washington of the head of State, Paul Biya.
According to the Camwater the funds raised will help to fund the project of extension of the drinking water supply in Yaounde by a new waterworks leaned on the Nyong River to project the capacity of production estimated at 250,000 m 3 per day. This will approximately bring to 490,000 m3/day, the total capacity of production of water in Yaounde and eliminate in its entirety, the shortage of drinking water.
In reality, the 261 billion is also part of a vast programme of support that the Camwater negotiated with the American consortium and the Exim bank USA.
"We got to Ecc/Ge, a letter from the Exim Bank USA to fund the projects of for drinking in Cameroon for over 650 million US dollars, more than 320 billion our francs" said Jean - Williams Sollo, after the hearing in Washington.
