Capt. Guerandi Mbara detained by Intelligence services

According to a survey published in Jeune Afrique, the ex-putschiste was drugged and transferred to Cameroon in a transaction that he believed was intended for a purchase of some ammunition.

According to an investigation published in the weekly Jeune Afrique, edition of 14 to 20 September 2014 and entitled "Cameroon: inquiry into an affair of State", Guerandi Sudhakar - one of the masterminds of the 1984 coup against Paul Biya and one of the last survivors of this coup - is, from January 2013, at the hands of Cameroon intelligence. Dead or alive, the magazine does not however meet the question.

As per the reports of the weekly, Guerandi departed from Bulgaria Sofia airport on 25 January 2013 aboard a small aircraft led by Macedonian drivers, believing to have been heading to Russia to meet an arms dealer. The captain of the Cameroonian army, exiled to Burkina Faso since June 5, 1994, still fed the desire to see Paul Biya off power, by the military.

On the plane, he was rather drugged with a sedative and led to the Douala international airport. He said he had 2000 men ready to overthrow Paul Biya and that he has a detailed plan of attack.
