Catherine Samba Panza makes a brief stop-over in Cameroon

The Transition President of the Central African Republic, Catherine Samba Panza has landed in Cameroon for the first time since she was elected by the Transitional Parliament.

The United Nations Aircraft having on board Catherine Samba Panza landed at the Nsimalen International Airport at about 7pm this 15th September.

She was received by top government officials and members of the diplomatic corps lead by Prime Minister Philemon Yang.

Catherine Samba Panza on a technical stopover in Cameroon held talks with Prime Minister Philemon Yang.

Shortly after the audience, the transition President settled at the Yaoundé Hilton Hotel for a four hour recess before returning to the airport.

She was once again given the same Presidential honours as she boarded the aircraft en route to the United States of America.

It is worth indicating that the technical stopover comes less than 72 hours after a Cameroonian, Brigadier General Tumenta Martin took over command of the new United Nations peace keeping mission in the Central African Republic.
