Catholics begin Lent season

Catholic Christians around the world celebrated Ash Wednesday, on the 19th of February to mark the beginning of the Lenten season.

All Christians of the catholic faith were marked at their forehead with the sign of the cross which is a reminder that one came from dust and someday, shall return to dust.

To observe this celebration, masses were held in different parishes all over Cameroon and the world at large.

Activities from Ash Wednesday throughout the Lent season signifies reconciliation with God almighty and the improvement of one's relationship with the Lord and his entourage.

According to the Catholic doctrine, penance, Almsgiving and prayer are the efforts every Christian must make during these 40 days of lent.

They must be ready to suffer like Jesus Christ did on his way to Calvary which is a sign that, they share in sufferings and are repentant of their sins.
