Cavaye Yeguie Djibril awards prizes to schools in far North

The 10th edition of the prize giving day organized every year by the president of the National Assembly took place at Tokombere recently.

Organized annually by the president of the National Assembly, he distributed materials to primary schools and awarded high schools that employed best practices in Tokombere in the Department of Mayo-Sava on 27th November.

In this edition of awards day, 48 primary schools and 5 private primary schools, 3 kindergartens and 10 schools with a total of 25,191 students, 406 teachers and some outstanding parents were honoured.

At the level of secondary cycle education, 8 institutions (6 general education institutes and 2 technical schools) were beneficiaries.

While all primary schools both public and private received minimum packages from honourable Cavaye Yeguie Djibril, the best students of this district recieved packages such as books listed in the curriculum, workbooks and other school supplies.

To the teachers, students and parents, this gesture of the Member of Parliament for Mayo-Sava has positively impacted the educational strides in this unit. On behalf of the educational community, the headmaster of the school at Tokombere, Ali Lamine Seini, thanked the Hon. Cavaye for his generosity.

For the Deputy Mayor of the municipality of Tokombere, Naba Hans and representative of the RT. Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril, "these acts is in line with the vision of the State with regard to decentralization and reinforcing multiple actions of the public authorities for the benefit of the people".

After the presentation, the prefect of the Department of Mayo-Sava expressed his profound appreciation and commended the benefacor "for his tireless expression of generously each year to the youth of this Department".

According to Babila Akaou, "in an environment characterized by low education, school drop outs, and socio-cultural constraints, the promotion of excellence comes to unearth talents and foster positive competition among youth in school".

The prefect seized this opportunity to reassure teachers and students of the security arrangements by government to enable them work efficiently.
