Chinese aircraft MA60 arrives in Cameroon

Expected July 07, the two MA60 purchased by the State from the Chinese manufacturer Avic international holding landed recently in Cameroon.

Chaired by Minister for transport, the ceremony of official receipt of the two aircraft took place at the Douala air base, in the presenceof the Governor of the littoral region and officials from Cameroon airlines corporation (Camair Co) among others.

It left the city of Xi An (China) March 25 from the transited through Shanghai (China), Yemen, and Djibouti.

The crew of two American pilots employed by the company, Aircraft Brokers, specializing in aircraft conveying, as well as of a Chinese technician, were forced to spend the night in the latter's country, rather than in Yemen - as originally planned - due to civil war.

Perhaps, the crew was brought this option by virtue of military registration of two MA60 which could be taken for a target by the belligerents in the Yemeni conflict.

Last September, a delegation of the Cameroonian army had travelled to the Middle Kingdom to receive these MA60.

Since then, it has been nearly six months between this mission and the arrival of famous aircraft. It must be said that devices that will be approved so far are indeed those object of the signature September 27, 2011 of a memorandum of understanding on the provision of two aircraft MA60, between the Minister of State support of transportation (of the time), Bello Bouba Maigari, and makers of Avic international holding.

We know that in the meantime, two debates are open for public opinion on these aircraft. The first relative to their costs deemed "exorbitant" has been launched in the National Assembly.
