Over the years, Cameroonians have been trooping to Lagos, Nigeria to the Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN, of Prophet TB Joshua.
Some time ago, it was alleged that the government of Cameroon had issued a statement, barring Cameroonians from visiting Prophet J.B. Joshua.
But Minister of Communication and government spokesman, Issa Tchiroma, has refuted such allegations saying “I cannot remember having issued or come across a release saying Cameroonians should not visit TB Joshua”.
In a chat with Eden newspaper Minister Issa Tchiroma, however, recalled that a colleague minister had once raised the issue in a cabinet meeting that Cameroonians who go to SCOAN suffer a lot and some get stranded.
It would be noted that there have been tales of some Cameroonians who allegedly sold their properties or borrowed money in the hope of getting miracles in TB Joshua’s church, only to be disappointed in Lagos.
Joshua’s TV station has gained popularity in Cameroon and many people, including high profile personalities, are taking trips to Lagos to receive healings and blessings. One such high-profile personality was the Chairman of the Social Democratic Front, SDF, Ni John Fru Ndi.
Minister Tchiroma continued that “I am a born Muslim but I am a free man. I believe the Almighty is one. I respect Christians and I think the respect is mutual”.
Minister Tchiroma added that because of the freedom of speech that exists in the country, Cameroonians are free to say whatever they like.
“Cameroonians are free to worship anywhere, go to whichever denomination. It is this freedom that has kept us in peace,” Tchiroma stated.
It would be recalled that late Ghanaian President John Atta Mills, was a regular visitor to TB Joshua’s Synagogue Church of all Nations, SCOAN.
Zimbabwe’s opposition leader Morgan Tsvanguari, who has perennially tried to unseat President Robert Mugabe, was recently at TB Joshua’s for blessings.
