Col. Petsouonko Peterson appointed new commander for the North

The new Commander at the Gendarmerie division in the North, Colonel Petsouonko Peterson Daniel was installed Wednesday by the Sed, Jean Baptiste Bokam.

The ‘place des fêtes’ in Garoua, located at the independence boulevard (Roumdé Alois), hosted the installation ceremony. Colonel Peterson Daniel Petsouonko was installed to his functions, at a ceremony presided over by the Secretary of State for defense at the National Gendarmerie, Jean Baptiste Bokam, who, in his speech, did not fail to highlight both the sensitivity of the northern region, in which this senior officer appointed by the president of the Republic has been put in control.

As part of his functions, he will be expected to intensify the fight against organized crime, including armed gangs and road-blocking, deterrence through reinforcements and also to promote the activities of the mounted police.

With a Diploma from Emia in 1986, this officer had led the squadron of mounted police Maroua and the company of gendarmerie, Mora, before serving as Deputy Chief of staff at the South unit, second Commander of squad in Littoral, and recently as Director of the central coordination, post which he occupied until this appointment.
