Construction work in the East of Douala advances

The narrow road along which many motorists corroded their brake, changes little by little. The widening on the two sides of the road is ongoing and the work being carried out is visible.

"Everyone works in harmony, there is a good agreement and the people understand", noted a worker who spoke on attitude of the populations.

The building site linking the East was part of the agenda of a meeting of the regional Cell of coordination of great work of Mintp held Monday in the services of the governor in Bonanjo.

It was indicated there that this project of 41 billion F, spread out over 30 months, has 27% of rate of advancement, and 47% of the already consumed time. "There was a great improvement these last three months, with groundwork in particular", explained a person in charge of the project.

Some 500 people are committed in this project, which began with the crossroads from the Market from the Flowers and should be completed at the Dibamba bridge. Speaking about bridge, 2nd in construction on Wouri also appeared on the agenda of work of the regional Cell.

In fact, the circumstances of the accident which has occurred on January 20 were recalled by the governor Joseph Beti Assomo: a boat of more than 100m working for dredging of the channel ran up against the pier (temporary bridge) causing damage on 35m.

The boat was hailed the time of the investigations, and the wish of the authorities, reiterated on this occasion, is that work begins again as soon as possible.
