Cooperations between partner organisations and two countries reviewed

The government of Cameroon and the World Wild Fund for Nature, WWF, has signed a convention to amend the WWF’s 2004 headquarter agreement in Cameroon.

The Minister of External Relations Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo represented the government of Cameroon and the WWF Country Director in Cameroon, Timothy Geer signed for the WWF.

According to terms of the agreement, the country Director of WWF pledged to continuously ensure the protection of the Congo Basin and Cameroon’s natural reserves.

The agreement further established the WWF sub-regional office changing its appellation from the Central Africa Programme Office (CARPO) to Regional office for Africa Yaounde Hub.

Later in the day, Minister Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo granted a farewell audience to the outgoing Spanish Ambassador to Cameroon His Excellency Marcelino Cabanas Ansorena, who said his stay in Cameroon is memorable.

The Spaniard appreciated the ongoing bilateral ties between Yaounde and Madrid, indicating further avenues for both countries.

He also said Spain and her investors have indicated interest in the rehabilitation of the Yaounde Central Lake.

On his heels was the outgoing Senegalese Ambassador to Cameroon, His Excellency Alioune Ndao Fall who was granted another farewell audience by Minister Piere Moukoko Mbonjo.

The Diplomat said the cooperation between Cameroon and Senegal is on a good foot. Prior to this audience, the outgoing Senegalese Ambassador was decorated with a medal of Knight of Valour during a farewell state dinner organised on behalf of the Head of State by the Minister of External Relations.
