Council support fund launches modern library

The first edition of the open door of the institution took place on Wednesday June 29, 2016.

The Special Council Support Fund for Mutual Assistance (FEICOM) is an institution that is also out to promote social and cultural progress through literature.

It is in this light that the first edition of the open day of the Modern Library of FEICOM took place on Wednesday June 29, 2016 on the theme « Book, instrument for the strengthening of capacities and the optimisation of the productivity of FEICOM”.

Speaking at the occasion, the General Manger of FEICOM, Camille Philippe Akoa said the choice of the theme was to encourage the staff to develop the reading culture. He called on his collaborators to be aware of the importance of the modern library for their personal development and improvement.

Organised by the Department of Documentation and Archives of FEICOM in collaboration with the IFRIKIYA Polishing House, the event was in prolongation of the World Book Day celebrate on April 23 every year.

The modern library of FEIC OM has as objectives to bring information closer to users, render it available and accessible, stimulate the enterprise culture and contribute to the conservation of the collective memory.

The major highlight of the event was a round table led by Dr. François Bingono Bingono.

The speakers at the round table included authors like Ngane Suzanne, Etana Ombwa and Awono Jean Claude, General Manger of IFRIKIYA Publishing House, who have contributed immensely in the publication of several editions of the Magazine Communal, the Annual Report, Communal Chart, and the internal bulletin Horizon FEICOM, among others. The event ended with the launch of the competition for the best poet of FEICOM.
