The Vice President of the Pan African Women’s Organisation, Madeleine Tefack has reminded women in Cameroon and Africa as a whole, of their leading role as mothers, to ensure that the society is built on moral values.

Madeleine Tefack emphasised on this aspect during the first preparatory meeting ahead of the 54th edition of the Day of the African Woman to be observed on July 31, 2016.

She also condemned societal ills including drug abuse, terrorism and domestic violence, while calling for the respect of the rights of women.

During the conclave, participants presented activities they envisage as commemorative activities for the Day of the African Woman.

Such proposals ranged from educative talks to practical lessons on entrepreneurship and income generating activities to empower the womenfolk.

At the end of the session, the organisers went home with a bag full of suggestions which will be reviewed and discussed in the next preparatory meeting, billed for July 27, 2016.
