Councilors and officials of the Bamenda III Council, Nkwen are still to come to terms with the untimely passing away of the 1st Deputy Mayor, Mme Liliam Rose, who gave up the ghost minutes after collapsing in front of her office last Friday December 12, as she prepared to attend the 2015 budgetary session.
Deliberations were delayed for over three hours as she was rushed to the hopsital. Mezam ASDO, Ndumbe Dika Jean Pierre who sat in for the SDO, prayed for a similar incident not to occur in Bamenda III this year.
According to the Secretary General of the Council Yufanyi Ezikiel, Mme Liliam recently returned home from Shisong, Nso, where she was undergoing treatment for painful and swollen legs. She resumed work only last week, and turn up early on that day to attend the council session before tragedy struck.
Even though she was diabetic, she had been managing the situation very well the SG said. Her death he continued came as a complete surprise and shock to them.
She was declared dead upon arrival at the Ntasin Catholic Hospital Nkwen where she was rushed to after the malaise.
Mme. Liliam Rose has been 1st deputy Mayor of Bamenda III since its creation in 2007. A firebrand SDF militant, she is credited for planting the SDF party in Bamenda III and her native Bui Division in the early nineties.
