Detainees of the Monique case released

Five people who were arrested in relation to the death of Monique Koumate have been released by the police. Concerned, however, remain at the disposal of justice.

We are moving towards the truth in the so-called Douala tragedy. Persons placed under judicial supervision for the death of Monique Koumate are free to move since yesterday.

The prosecutor at the Court of First Instance Douala¬Bonanjo ordered their release. The morgue attendant of the Laquintinie Hospital, the maternity staff, midwife and the lady who ripped the late Monique Koumateke, however, they continue to be at the disposal of justice.

For investigation purposes, they appear free. This latest development adds to multiple gestures of appeasement by the authorities since this unfortunate event. The Governor of the Littoral region, the Minister of Health, Minister of Communications have consistently worked to easing the face of horror relayed via social networks.

In turn, the Head of State on Monday sent the Governor of the Littoral Region, Samuel Dieudonné Ivaha Diboua to the family of the deceased to offer condolences to the entire nation and give assurances that the government of the Republic remains mobilized to support Marie Sen, the mother of the late Monique Koumate.

Investigations at various levels of the administrative hierarchy have already helped to reconstruct the route of the patient then.
