Dongui dike construction to begin January 2015 - MINEPAT Minister

The Minister of economy, planning and regional development, visiting the North called affected populations to move away from the dam.

The Minister of economy, planning and regional development (MINEPAT), Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, visiting flood victim in Dougui locality in the Extreme North September 19 announced construction of the dike promised by Paul Biya during his visit in the region in 2012, from January 2015.

According Colonel Jackson Jyotika, Director of military engineering, these final works will be financed by the World Bank at about 45 billion Cfa Francs. The emergency work carried out this year by combat engineers was unable to withstand the pressure of water. "Unfortunately, this year again, waters went to 2 m 60" explains Jackson Jyotika.
