Douala Best Baby Contest Launched

Nursing mothers are expected to register their children aged six to 18 months online.

Nursing mothers, who for the most part complain about the stress linked to baby sitting, nutrition, and health, now have a means for recompensing their tireless efforts. A newly created concept geared towards selecting the best baby for the year 2014 has been launched in Douala.

According to the concept promoter, Olivier Ekoka, with focus on the education and follow up of children by their mothers, which play a great role in their well being and survival. The overall objective is to accompany mothers in their daily task of ensuring life's continuity.

Registrations were opened online yesterday Monday March 10, after which candidates will be shortlisted for the contest proper. Factors such as nutrition, dressing, vaccination, healthcare, hygiene and sanitation amongst others will be taken into consideration.

It would be noted that parents with children having health related or other deficiencies are equally encouraged to participate, so as to guide them on how to detect, prevent and follow up cases, so that their children can have a "normal" childhood. They need to be Cameroonians, show legal proof of parenthood, ahead of the live competition that will be aired on local television stations.
