Dr. Nkosazana hails Cameroon for AU Handbook

During the book’s launch in Addis Ababa on January 26, 2015, the AUC Chairperson thanked Cameroon for making available the French version.

African Union Commission, AUC, Chairperson, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, has expressed appreciation to the Cameroonian government for making available the French version of the African Union Handbook.

The second edition of the Handbook 2015 was launched on Monday, January 26, 2015, by Dr. Nkosazana and Cameroon’s Minister of External Relations, Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo. The ceremony took place on the side-lines of the 26th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union at the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

According to a press release issued after the event, the AUC Chairperson wished that efforts will continue to ensure that the handbook is translated into the other working languages of the African Union. The AU Handbook is jointly published in English and French by the African Union Commission and the government of New Zealand in collaboration with the Cameroonian government and distributed to all AU member States.

It provides a detailed presentation of the structures and organs of the AU so as to create awareness on its activities and programmes of the Commission with the view to familiarise the organisation to its many stakeholders, including the civil society.

“Cameroon is happy to have contributed to the production of the French version of the AU Handbook and hopes that this publication will be useful to the African Union,” Minister Moukoko Mbonjo said during the occasion. The 2015 edition of the African Union Handbook is available in English and in French on the AU website: www.au.int
