Drainage at the entrance of Douala University reconstructed

After the landslide which occurred more than a year ago, students at the University of Douala can now access the road that had been cut off.

The work of the drainage located at the entrance of the University of Douala, on the side of Ndogbong, is almost complete. Teachers and students have resumed the habit of using this street behind the technical school since a fortnight.

For the moment, only pedestrians can go through it. A thorough work was done after the street was divided in two during a landslide about a year ago.

According to Joseph Fongang Ngongang, CEO of Christ Building, the successful work was done so as to permit water crossing through this area pass more easily. The new channel has the ability to slow down the flow of water.

"The most important thing was to secure the premises," reassured the Dg of Christ Building. The end of the work normally scheduled last May was not possible because of the significant rainfall. The road is expecting an inauguration from the Rector of the University, expected in the coming days.
