They are being charged with variously with the possession, consumption and sale of cocaine and cannabis.
Some people of the 30 arrested during a security raid in Bonaberi, recently, have been transferred to the Court of First Instance for further investigations. The men, who were detained at the Judicial Police headquarters in Bonanjo, are being charged with the possession, consumption and sale of cannabis and cocaine.
The men were picked up from a shop dedicated for the criminal activity in Bonaberi at the place called "Chateau" following a tip off from an inhabitant. Security forces of the Mobile Intervention Unit N°2 for the Littoral raided the area and a certain Mathias Fontsa was arrested with a large quantity of the illicit drugs. Further interrogations led to the arrest of another Yves Ndoumbe Essangue, said to be the principal provider and the network's linchpin.
Twenty-eight other persons who were buying or consuming the cocaine and cannabis in the shop were arrested a few minutes later.
The security forces carried out a rapid search in the shop uncovering the following items: 768 packets of cannabis, a plastic bag containing 200g of cannabis, 50g of cocaine, 23 plastic tubes for consuming cocaine, six packets of blade, two packets of matches, 12 gas lighters, 31 pipes of different drugs, a digital pocket scale used for measuring the illicit drugs as well as cigarette and illicit drug butts.
Commander of the Mobile Intervention Unit N°2 for the Littoral, Gerard Aldjim, who supervised the operations, transferred the 30 suspected individuals to the Judicial Police for further investigations.
