It is therefore to build a united front towards greater access to energy that the forum has been organised.

The reform elaborated under the theme “ECCAS and CEMAC White Paper: Regional policy for universal access to modern energy services and economic and social development” is currently being scrutinised by experts of the sub-region.

These experts began meeting Tuesday 14th October 2014 with the financial support of the United Nation Development Program.

The target is to provide electricity to 63 million more people between 2014 and 2030 in the sub-region.

During the opening ceremony of the experts’ meeting, all were agreed that the sub-region has good potential but bad policies.

The resolution was taken to adapt policies to the changing times.
