Education Minister visits schools in Yaounde

The Minister basic Education, Youssouf Hadidja Alim, has not dropped her usual rule of monitoring schools during reopenings. Accompanied by her collaborators, she visited schools and kindergartens in Yaounde

"We have come to make sure that classes have actually resumed and that curricula will be covered so that the examinations can take place under good conditions," said the Minister yesterday April 20.

From Tsinga, Messamendongo passing through Mballa II, Etoudi, Ekounou, Odza, the Minister and her team surprised students and teachers in class. The fatigue of the two weeks vacation could still be read on some faces, but most responded to the call yesterday morning, leaving the minister with great satisfaction.

"The teaching staff were at post. And with the information that came from the nine other regions, it should be noted that the resumption of classes was effective. Our anticipation was duly met because of what we met on the spot" she added.

Minister Youssouf Hadidja Alim noted, "we asked the pupils to be in school every day and not to lose sight of their studies if they want to succeed. It is necessary to be at school and learn and not wait until the last day. And to the teaching staff, we recommended them to do everything to cover the school curricula and assist students to ensure that the set standards are achieved," she said.

The visit also helped her to assess the State of infrastructure and sanitation in these institutions. If schools meet her requirments, she would indicate and laud efforts been made. "As it is not possible to intervene now, with the 2015 budget already adopted, we will make provision for it in the 2016 budget", promised Youssouf Hadidja Alim
