Election observers improve their capacities

The international organisation of La Francophonie and Elections Cameroon, ELECAM have co-organised an international seminar to train national election observers.

Members of the electoral board of ELECAM and representatives of election observatories from thirteen francophone African countries of the Central African sub region and beyond are taking part in the three-day information sharing workshop.

The Minister Delegate in the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralisation in charge of Decentralized Collectives, Jules Doret Ndongo while opening the training saluted La Francophonie for partnering with ELECAM to organize the international workshop that will help improve the credibility of Cameroon's electoral system.

According to the ELECAM boss, Samuel Fonkam Azu'u national election observers are supposed to master the techniques of observing elections in order to effectively cover the national territory and make recommendations that will not only help in the growth of democracy in their respective countries but make elections a continual political process in Africa.
