Electricity supply: Yaoundé, Douala in total blackout

Cameroon’s capital city, the economic capital Yaoundé, Douala nd bamenda respectively have been in complete and total blackout last Saturday leaving many families in total confusion.

Though AES SONEL announced in a release read over CRTV that most parts of the town will not have electricity from 5 am to 6pm, many couldn’t still understand how the whole city could be deprived of electricity for the whole day. But workers of Electricity Company claimed they were carrying out maintenance work that would prevent power outage during the World Cup.

“I cannot understand the type of Electricity Supply Company we have in Cameroon. AES SONEL is a mess, I repeat mess,” an angry bar owner lamented.

In Bamenda, residents they went for three days without electricity and it has always been so for a long time.
