Enoh Meyomesse released after 40 months in prison

Dieudonné Enoh Meyomesse writer and political leader was released Thursday April 16 by the Court of Appeal of the Centre.

The writer and political leader was sentenced by the Court of Appeal of the Centre to 40 months in prison, a sentence he has been served in full since his first conviction in December 2012 to seven years in prison by the Military Court in Yaoundé.

It can be recalled that he was found guilty of aggravated theft and illegal sale of gold. Enoh Meyomesse’s trial was considered "Kafkaesque" by many opponents of the regime of Yaoundé. In all, he has spent 40 months and 15 days at the Kondengui central prison.
