On Wednesday, April 13, 2016, in Washington, Lazare Essimi Menye was on the panel of experts of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, on the occasion of the meeting organized under the “World Bank Group-Africa Strategic Investor Dialogue“.

The former Minister of Finance and Agriculture of Cameroon was there as “best expert of the World Bank and the IMF” to help African countries to develop the potential of agribusiness in Africa.

The theme was: “Unlocking the potential of agribusiness in Africa through the development of transformation products. Trade and minimum infrastructure platform (Power and e-commerce), “reports alwihdainfo.com.

Lazare Essimi Menye was facing his successors Alamine Ousmane Mey, Minister of Finance, and Eyebe Henri Ayissi, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, who made the trip to Washington.

Victim of a “political/media conspiracy” in Cameroon, the Essimi Menye case had become a state affair. Sacked from the Government of Cameroon on October 2, 2015, Lazare Essimi Menye was suspected of mismanagement.

He later received a medical evacuation without funding, granted by President Paul Biya after a month of hospitalization at the hospital of the National Social Insurance Fund in Yaounde.

According to Mutations of December 3, 2015, Lazare Essimi Menye was evacuated thanks to the insurance he had subscribed with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) where he was an official for years. His evacuation amounted to 45 million CFA francs, and was broadly supported by the IMF.

By becoming an expert of the Bretton Woods institutions again, has Lazare Essimi Menye escaped the Cameroonian justice?.
