'Eto'o not being investigated by police' - Lawyer

Samuel Eto'o's lawyer has denied that his client is being investigated by the police.

It was reported last week that the former Barcelona and Inter Milan striker’s passport had been confiscated by authorities as the Cameroon FA continue their probe into match fixing after allegations that seven national squad players were involved in manipulating the Indomitable Lions' World Cup game against Croatia.

But his lawyer Elame Bonny Privat has since assured eNCA that his clients passport had never been seized by the police.

"Mr Samuel Eto'o's passport was never seized by the Cameroonian authorities. We are surprised to learn this, but we have heard all sorts of things about the seizure of the passport of our client," Privat told eNCA

"Samuel Eto'o has his passport in his possession as we speak. The proof is that he travelled to meet with his family. He is spending time with his wife and children."

FIFA last week expressed that they haven't found any proof of match manipulation.
