The arrival of the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo'o at the ceremonial ground of the Military Headquarters in Yaounde, yesterday July 1, 2012, set the ball rolling for the solemn double ceremony of the award of epaulettes and medals to some meritorious officials of the corps.
Immediately after his arrival Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo'o proceeded to decorate some senior officers with May 20, 2012 labour medals. The first series of medals, the Cameroon Order of Valour were awarded to some 14 recipients by Minister Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo'o. The second set, the Cameroon Order of Merit was awarded to some 72 beneficiaries. Another set, the Cameroon Order of Sports Merit was handed to some 11 soldiers.
Public medals were also handed to over 200 beneficiaries while some 22 military officers were decorated with labour medals. The award of epaulettes followed suit with those promoted by the June 2012 Presidential and Ministerial decrees honoured, to the admiration and cheers of family members and onlookers. The beneficiaries of epaulettes were rank and file officers.
After the decorations and award of medals, the Commanding Officer, Col. Thomas Ebite received congratulations from Minister Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo'o before he and his guests, including Members of Government and diplomatic corps, headed for the reception.
