Some officials in the education domain from Central and West African countries are attending an international conference in the South West Region.
The officials made up of experts in the field of education, psychology and medicine are exploring ways of educating normal children alongside children with special needs.
The President of the West and Central African Association of Special and Inclusive Eductaion,Professor EK Chukwu Nwazuke said inclusive Education is bringing and teaching all categories of children under the same roof.
Professor EK Chukwu hoped at the end of the conference experts will adopt a uniform procedure after sharing expiriences in each of their domains.
A UNESCO Representative from Paris, Madame Aminatou Diaye outlined that the ultimate objective of the encounter is to convince governments to accept and adopt special budgets intended to foster inclusive education.
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Buea,Professor Nalova Lyonga said the present situation were children with special needs are not given due attention contributes to higher level of illiteracy in the African Continent.
At the end of the meeting participants adopted a roadmap in favour of children with special needs in Central and West African regions.
