Fécafoot Elections: Parliament gets involved!

They are more than 200 members of the Cameroonian parliament to have initiated the document demanding the cancellation of the electoral process of FECAFOOT.

The document was placed on the table of the Head of State by the Honourable Cavaye Yeguie Djibril the President of the National Assembly himself.

The first curiosity of this document is that it was signed by three MPs, members of the General Assembly of FECAFOOT to the cause of Tombi a Roko.

Claimed by MPs and Senators?

A quick reading of this document, we hold that the members of parliament denounced the undemocratic nature of the process, are the incongruities of the Electoral Code, and ask the outright cancellation of the process.

But two major claims underlying the anger of members of Parliament were first, concerns about the representation of women. All women members of Parliament who have also signed the document for all political parties, point out that there is no female member of the General Assembly of FECAFOOT from the regions, which to their eyes is a serious discrimination.

The second claim is constitutional and attacks the statutes layout of FECAFOOT. It is expected in the new laws of FECAFOOT that the First Vice President of FECAFOOT must be English speaking. For Members, it is a serious attack on first, constitution because it is necessary to define the word "Anglophone" added to these texts and then explain why an "Anglophone" can only be Vice President.

Women parliamentarians are even planning to be heard loudly by November 29 election day of the President of FECAFOOT, if nothing is done.
