On Friday January 30, 2015, the State of Cameroon signed with American partners, two loan conventions intended for the realization of the construction of bridges on the whole of the territory.
The Minister of Economy, Planning and the Regional development (Minepat), alongside the Minister for Labour (Mintp), who signed the two loan agreements of approximately 45.9 billion FCFA intended for the realization of the construction of metal bridges in modular prefabricated sections.
The project is financed by the United States through the General Company of Bank of New York. The amount is divided into a credit purchasing (24.9 billion FCFA) and a financial credit of 21 billion FCFA for financing the construction of 55 modular metal bridges and work of civil engineering associated by the companies Acrow Corporation Bridges (the United States) and Ellipse Projects SAS (France).
The ceremony on Friday January 30, 2015, organized in a hotel in Yaounde, brought together many members of the government and ambassadors. They were all happy to learn that the delivery of the material will last 18 months as from the date of signature of convention, the implementation being 2 years for all the 55 bridges.
The Area of the East has the largest share with 11 bridges envisaged, then the North-West (9 bridges).The West and the South with 7 bridges, then Adamaoua and the Center (5 bridges), South-west (4), the Littoral (3), North and Extreme-north with two bridges each.
