FEICOM supports CMR students, challenge special edition

As part of activities to celebrate its 40th anniversary this year, the Special Council Support Fund for Mutual Assistance, FEICOM, in partnership with the National and Foreign Press Observatory, OPEN, will be organising a special edition of the Cameroon Students Challenge, CSC.

This information is contained in a press release issued in Yaounde, October 1, 2014 by the Deputy Executive Secretary of OPEN, Jessie Atogho Ekukole. OPEN is a Think Tank dealing with culture and science.

According to the release, the Cameroon Students Challenge which is designed for young people is a brain trust for knowledge and innovation whose motto is: “Youths are Ingenious.”

The Deputy Scribe of OPEN noted that the CSC aims at detecting, valorising and promoting bright, talented and ingenious students.

“FEICOM, whose mission is to support and promote local development, intends with the support of councils, to focus young students’ reflection on the theme: ‘Decentralisation in Cameroon,’” Jessie Atogho further stated.

Recalling that decentralisation is at the heart of major accomplishments programme of President Paul Biya, the OPEN release holds that the activity is in line with the vision of the Head of State who recommended that young people should dare, innovate and create for they are actually the driving force for the emergence of the country.

The CSC special edition marked by the 40th anniversary of FEICOM will offer several prizes, awards and bonuses to successful participants.

“Information concerning this innovative brain trust, the Cameroon Students Challenge, placed under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education, are available on the FEICOM website, headquarters and regional agencies, in all town halls, as well as at OPEN,” the release stated.
