The elements of the Central Commissariat of Maroua, Far North capital, have arrested a fake graduate certificate dealer.

Amadou Bouba, a teacher at l’École Publique d’Application de Founangué, had found another job by dealing in false documents.

The L’œil du Sahel newspaper reported that a team of police officers led by major police inspector Ndongo Ndongo, carried out a search at Amadou Bouba’s house, at the Djarengol-Kodek neighbourhood, Maroua 3 district.

This search led to the recovery of fake tools including stamps, daters and stamp pads.

Among the fake documents found in his possession, was a certificate of nationality issued in the name of Souaïbou Haman, born July 10, 1992 in Maroua and proof of degree, including a patent of studies of first cycle (Bepc) Chad issued on behalf of Damdam Jacqueline, born March 02, 1991 in Balaza Alkali

Martin Hayam, a senior police Commissioner and Maroua central police boss, told the newspaper that "with a police warrant, they (police) asked to search his bag in which they recovered a number of birth certificates and other administrative documents.”

The teacher will spend a good part of the current school year behind bars. He will be summoned before the Prosecutor of the Republic to answer for his actions, in the coming days.

According to the Chief of police, “Amadou Bouba is a champion in the manufacture of false administrative documents. He copied the signatures of mayors of Maroua, the sub-prefects and even that of the president of the Court of First Instance of Maroua. He produced birth certificates for a sum of 5000 FCFA.”
