Fako CPDM elite levy militants to finance party activities

Militants of the CPDM in Fako Division under the canopy of Fako Elite Development Fund have levied militants of the party including chiefs in order to finance party activities in the division.

The levies were dished out on Friday, January 29, 2016, during an enlarged Fako CPDM elite meeting which took place at the Limbe City Council deliberating Chambers Bota.

It brought together Central Committee Members, Senators, Parliamentarians, Mayor, Councillors, former and present members of Government and those ranked as such, chiefs amongst others.

CPDM militants in Fako for their maturity in the recent reorganisation of the basic structures of the party which, he said, has added new impetus.

He told the militants that the Head of State, President Paul Biya National President of the party, has Fako top in his development agenda. Fako, he said, will be privileged to host some of the matches in the upcoming 2016 and 2019 African Cup of Nations in the female and male categories respectively in the newly named Limbe Omnisport Stadium.

Musonge added that after 50 years of reunification in Beau, Fako Division will equally have the 50th National Youth Day celebrations launched in Tiko Sub Division on Monday 1February 2016 by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education.

After congratulating Fako elite for the financial assistance in sustaining the party in Fako, he unveiled the Fako Division guidelines in the financing of the party in events like Nation Youth Day,(11th February), party anniversary (24th March), National Day (20th May), President Biya’s ascension to power (6th November) and section conferences that will include cells, branches and Sub-Sections.

According to Senator Peter Mafany Musonge, all the events will require money and guarantee victory for the party in upcoming elections.

Reading out the guidelines, Honorable Emilia Lifaka Monjoa, Vice President of the Nation Assembly, reiterated that financing of the party should be a participatory approach so that it should not be a burden to a few.

Some of the levies yearly were as follows: Senators 1,000.000 FCFA; Parliamentarians 1,000.000 FCFA; Mayors 1,000.000 FCFA; Deputy Mayors 100.000 FCFA; Central Committee members 200.000 FCFA; CPDM Section Presidents 50.000 FCFA WCPDM Section Presidents WCPDM 30.000 FCFA; YCPDM / Person 5000 FCFA; Executive Members of CPDM 5000 FCFA ; WCPDM / person 5000 FCFA; YCPDM / person 5000 FCFA; Government Delegate 2,000.000 FCFA; General Manager of CDC 2,000.000 FCFA; General Manger of SONARA 2,000.000 FCFA.

Present and former members of government, Directors, Chief of services, Divisional Delegates, Secretary Generals of Councils, other business persons were equally levied.

Chiefdoms were not equally left out as; First class chiefs were levied 500,000 FCFA; Second class chiefs 300,000 FCFA; Third class chiefs 200,000 FCFA
The existing Fako Elite Development Fund Account has the following as signatories: Dr. Humphrey Ekema Monono, General Manager of CDC, Mr. Motanga Andrew Mojimba, Simon Mokoko Gobina as treasurer and Madame Efoe Becky as rapporteur.

All these, according to Honourable Emilia Lifanka, is to finance the party as a Division and the said amount is an appeal, not a levy and not compulsory as well.

She added that the amount is minimal and militants can even do more to give the party financial weight.

Welcoming the militants earlier, the Government Delegate to the Limbe City Council, Motanga Andrew Monjimba, called on Fako elite to put all hands on deck to give the CPDM in Fako overwhelming victory in the future elections.

Meanwhile, a motion of support was addressed to the Head of State, President Paul Biya and National President of the party, to seek another mandate by running in the 2018 presidential election
