Jacques Fame Ndongo, Minister of Higher Education and National Communication Secretary of the CPDM, was victim of an undisclosed attack on Monday March 23, during a CPDM close door meeting meant to prepare for the party’s 30th anniversary being commemorated on March 24.
Ndongo had just granted an interview to CRTV reporters before the unfortunate incident. Going by Mutations newspaper, he was immediately rushed to his Bastos residence by security operatives where he is currently under medical attention.
Our sources could not disclosed what exactly led to the minister’s attack, but the communication chief in the Higher Education Ministry, Jean Paul Mbia told Mutations newspaper that there's no cause for alarm as the minister is doing well at the moment.
“The minister is fine, there is no major problem, it was simply as a result of stress from work, all will be fine,” he said.
Fame Ndongo is a big wig in the CPDM. He’s considered one of the party’s sycophants who can say just anything to please the master. He is a strategic communicator and one-time communication minister. He rushes to the media at any time the party’s image is tainted and tries to whitewash any allegations.
He is even known as the presidential speech writer. His mastery of the French language, exceptional eloquence and uniqueness in presenting situations have rendered him the best.
His poor health could touch on the morale of party supporters at the time they are commemorating its 30th anniversary, most especially when the national chairman, Paul Biya, long left the country and is said to be somewhere in Switzerland.
