Fourteen suspected militants of the Islamic sect Boko Haram were arrested on Thursday by the Cameroonian army in Tcharkamari refugee’s camp in the Far North, bordering Nigeria, security sources told APA.
The alleged terrorists, who had fled the Nigerian town of Kumshe where the Cameroonian army conducted a major offensive since Monday, were attempting to infiltrate the camp when their ploy ran out of luck, drawing the attention of the occupants.
Boko Haram has been multiplying sporadic attacks in recent weeks in Cameroon’s Far North region despite being given torrid times by the firepower of the Lake Chad Basin Joint Multinational Force from the other side of the border.
