Female Candidates, Media in Election Campaign Synergy

They rounded off a series of training workshops in Yaounde on September 14.

Female candidates in the September 30, 2013 legislative and municipal elections are expected to be more performing during the election campaign, making proper use of the media following knowledge acquired during a series of training workshops that ended in Yaounde on September 14, 2013.

The closing workshop came on the heels of another workshop still organized by the Network for More Women in Politics, Coordinated by Professor Justine Diffo with the assistance of UN Women during which media practitioners formed a performance synergy with the female candidates.

Some candidates such as Mvondo née Bisso Philomène Sidonie of the CPDM Council list in Mvangan and Mahob Scholastique of the SDF Council list in Nguibassal Council, all testified that they begin campaigns armed with skills on how to dress, talk to people, attitudes to take and the language to use in wooing voters.

Their ambition is to head councils and be at the fore-front in taking political decisions in their parties. The female candidates were trained on the keys of communication for an effective electoral campaign.
