Female Economic Operators Seek Synergy

It was a satisfied and fulfilled Executive Director of "New Faces New Voices (NFNV)," Mrs. Nomsa Daniels, who left the economic capital over the week end, after a two-day working visit from Thursday February 14 to Friday 15. The South African national made an assessment of the Cameroonian branch of NFNV. Meeting at the conference hall of the Chamber of Agriculture in Bonanjo, she held a working session with women leaders and heads of Common Initiative Groups (CIGs). During their discussion, the various female economic operators gave brief presentations of their CIGs, domain of activity, successes recorded so far, alongside their shortcomings and expectations. Ranging from agriculture, fishery, sewing, vocational training, tapestry-making, amongst others; the women expressed their desire to regroup themselves under the canopy of this advocacy group to as to create an impact on a larger scale.

"New Faces New Voices" is a Pan-African network of women in the financial and business sectors. Created by Madam Graça Machel, wife of Nelson Mandela, NFNV has three main objectives: expanding the amount of finance to women; accelerating their advancement to leadership positions within the financial domain; and building their capacities as well as skills development. Present in 15 African countries among which Cameroon, NFNV works with governments and international organizations to realize these goals. Friday February 15 was marked by a visit to four sites and a working session in commissions. Mrs. Promised transmitting their requests to the Secretariat back in Johannesburg, after enjoying Cameroon's legendary hospitality.
