Another sad case happened, but this time around in Yaounde, at the Nkolndongo neighborhood, on Thursday, March 17, 2016, at around 9:45 PM.

That day, ENEO took away electricity as usual, and the whole neighborhood was in the dark. Inhabitants all turned to the use of candles. The sad incident happened when the parents of a young girl aged 3.5 years, lighted their candles, and unfortunately, their house caught fire.

The scene took place right in front of the deputy general manager of the National Investment Fund, who could do nothing. All neighbours were mobilized to stop the flames, but unfortunately, two people died in the flames; a young man in his 20s and the young girl who was named Cyndi.

According to our source, despite the calls made via the 117 emergency number, no reply was gotten from the firefighting brigade. It’s only through another person, who is a relative to a firefighter, that the firefighting brigade was easily called, and the flames were extinguished.
