The Senate President Marcel Niat Njifenji has paid an impromptu visit to the Bandjoun Palace following the tragic fire incident that struck the palace on Sunday 11th January 2015.
During the visit, he sympathised with the custodians of the Bandjoun tradition and carried out a traditional rite, pouring water on the ruins while pleading with the gods of the land to protect the chiefdom.
It’s the second time under the reign of fon Djomo Kamkang Nestol that fire hits the Bandjoun palace.
Mr. Niat was accompanied by three other senators and the Governor of the West Region Awa Fonka Augustine who had visited the palace few hours same day after the unfortunate incident occurred.
