Another victim of 'Operation Sparrowhawk', Jerome Mendouga died today in Yaounde. Sources revealed that his death was as a result of prolonged sickness.
The former ambassador of Cameroon to the United States of America was in detention at the Kondengui prison for five years. He was accused of embezzlement in the case involving, Jean Marie Atangana Mebara, former Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic.
Lately, the deceased complained of his conditions of detention and the authorities refused to let him go for treatment outside the prison.
The former diplomat died at the General Hospital of Yaounde where he was admitted for three weeks prior to his death.
