Samuel Lifanda and two other suspects were remanded in prison on Tuesday after appearing at the Special Criminal Court.
The former Government Delegate to the Limbe City Council, Samuel Ebiama Lifanda and two other suspects whose names Cameroon Tribune could not readily lay hands on are now in custody at the Kondengui, Yaounde Maximum Security Prison.
The three were remanded yesterday, June 10, 2015, after appearing before an Examining Magistrate at the Yaounde Special Criminal Court, SCC on alleged charges of embezzlement during Lifanda’s tenure as Government Delegate.
A highly placed source at the prison confirmed to Cameroon Tribune last evening that the three suspects arrived there.
The former Government Delegate was replaced by Andrew Motanga Monjimba on February 6, 2009, following a presidential decree that also appointed Government Delegates to other City Councils in the country.
The actual charges against Lifanda and accomplices are expected to be made public when the matter comes to court in the near future.
