The promotion of the integration of gender in the development of national and sub-regional public policies was at the heart of a press briefing held Wednesday in Yaounde, by the Regional Office of the German development Cooperation (GIZ).
It was on the occasion of the 8th edition of Femmes et Filles Fortes (FFF) launched as part of the activities marking the celebration of the international day of the woman.
Presentations focused on; gender in development policies, sub-regional policies, the German cooperation policy-gender, gender in public policies, gender in development policies, practical case of the DPP among others.
It appears from these exchanges to which the resident Director of GIZ in Cameroon, Dr. Ulrich Maenner, took part that, the gender issue is a reality within the office of the German Cooperation in Cameroon.
It leads jointly with the Ministry of economy, planning and regional development (Minepat) as well as with the Ministry of Finances (Minfi) field activities that result in programs whose main objective is to support the management of the budget process in accordance with national development objectives.
In summary it was a question for GIZ to advocate for the integration of gender in both national and sub-regional development strategies. For the rest of the activities inherent to March 08, GIZ provides inter alia, this day, the Organization of a workshop on the transformation of banana into flour and other products.
