German Minister discusses exchange programme with CMR

Visiting German Federal Minister of Cooperation and Economic Development, Dr. Gerd Müller, on March 13, 2015 in Yaounde, discussed with Cameroon’s Minister of External Relations, Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo, the need to deepen and continue student exchange programme between Cameroon and Germany.

Dr Gerd Müller later informed pressmen that the thirty-minute audience granted him by the Minister of External Relations also provided an opportunity to discuss the friendly ties between Cameroon and Germany that has been in place for so many years and thus have to be strengthened.

The variety of topics also discussed included the strengthening of economic cooperation through the creation of a Forum in the German city of Berlin which will enable Cameroonian and German businessmen exchange. “Germany also pledged its assistance to Cameroon to help tame the increasingly preoccupying problem of refugees,” Dr Gerd Müller said.

The German Federal Minister was meeting the first Government official in a three-day working visit that was highlighted by an audience with the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Philemon Yang, as well as working sessions with several Cabinet Ministers in charge of sectors such as agriculture, the economy, fisheries as well as forestry and wildlife.
