Gov't remains proactive in the prevention of Ebola

As the major gateway into the country, the Yaounde Nsimalen Airport has been equipped with up-to-date equipment to detect any suspected carrier of the virus who attempts to get into the country.

Amongst the equipment acquired are laser thermometers, thermal camera and a fifteen-man well trained medical team planted to be on the vanguard to detect any incoming passenger with unusually high body temperature.

A unit of two beds has also been created in the airport region to isolate any case that needs further medical analysis.

The Minister of Public Health Andre Mama Fouda was at Nsimalen to assess the effectiveness of the preventive measures and also to galvanize the team.

Andre Mama Fouda told the medical personnel to keep a keen eye on passengers but cautioned that not all cases of high temperature shall automatically be a carrier of the virus.
