Government Action - Third Forum Programmed for 2014

The Minister of Communication, Issa Tchiroma Bakary has challenged organisers of the "Forum on Government Action" (SAGO) to bring in more inventors in its coming editions for the exploitation of youths and investors as the country craves for economic emergence by 2035. He made the call on Friday August 23, 2013 in the Yaounde Multipurpose Sport Complex as he chaired the closing ceremony of the second edition of SAGO on behalf of the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Philemon Yang.

While hailing the braveness of the organisers, Issa Tchiroma Bakary invited other young Cameroonians to take their destiny into their hands and avoid unnecessary criticisms that lead them nowhere. He said youths should take the challenge, forge ahead and remain determined to be partners in development in the nearest future.

He was most pleased at the maturity and crowd pulling exhibitions and conference at the three-day forum. "This is testimony that the initiative to accompany government in its actions did not fall on deaf ears and it is evidence that synergy between government and civil society is strong and both partners are pushing forward actions that can help develop the country while improving the standards of living of the population," he said.

The General Commissioner of the Forum, Patrice Assiga Eyene, was quick to note that all is well that ends well and announced that the next rendezvous has been taken for 2014 with novelties in the pipeline. He was happy to note that over 5,217 visitors made it to the exhibition stands and with over 10 heavily attended debate conferences organised by some ministries and enterprises.

The forum was to throw more light on the action of public authorities in relation to their prerogative role of promoting all sectors of activity of our country for an emerging Cameroon as wished by the Head of State, Paul Biya. It contributed to the synergy of actions of public authorities; supported a transversal action of government's deployment; built the image of the government and that of the entire country; presented, showcased and hailed the contents of government's accomplishments; planned and showcased all projects contained in the "Major Accomplishments" agenda of the Head of State; and presented government as a credible institution, constantly listening to all its partners.
