Govt still has no news on the abducted in Garoua Boulai

Taken hostage by rebels of the Democratic Front for the Central African people (Fdpc) since September 20, their families still remain unaccounted for despite the efforts of the Cameroonian army and the Minusca.

The families of the eight Cameroonians abducted at Garoua Boulai, September 20 by Central African rebels of the Democratic Front for the Central African people (Fdpc), a fraction of the Seleka, while they quietly went about their field work near the border with the Central African Republic, begin to lose hope despite the efforts of the army and the assurances of the authorities.

Even if life seems to have normally taken its course in this district of the Eastern Region, the feeling of fear prevails among residents of this border town with the Central African Republic.

A few indiscretions seem to indicate that the hostages are in Central African forests. The authorities on the spot are trying to reassure the families on the return of the victims to their home, while the Cameroonian defense forces, supported by the integrated multidimensional Stabilization Mission of the United Nations in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) are still looking for the hostages.

The Governor of the Region of the East, Samuel Dieudonné Ivaha Diboua said that the situation is under control. The kidnappers demand the release of their leader, Abdoulaye Miskine held in Cameroon.
