Some 100 lowcost houses and boreholes will be constructed in the Northwest Regional capital, Bamenda, as part of President Paul Biya’s Emergency package for the Region.
A delegation from the Prime Minister’s Office, led by Georges Elanga Oban - one of the Technical Directors, that was in Bamenda on March 12, explained the emergency projects to stakeholders in sites that will host these projects that include; Agriculture, Livestock, energy and roads.
Northwest, The Post learnt, will, like other regions, benefit from the construction of two major highways. The Northwest, it is said, has already made a choice of two major highways put together at 50km.
The Prime Minister’s envoy appealed to the Government Delegate to the Bamenda City Council to open access roads to facilitate machines to begin construction on the reference hospital, 100 lowcost houses among others.
Only Douala and Yaounde will benefit from special electricity extension lines.
After visiting the Mile 5 Ntambang neighbourhood in Nkwen Bamenda III - the site for the construction of the reference hospital and lowcost houses, Elanga told Governor Aldophe Lele L’Afrique that it will not be long that a senior official from Yaounde will be in Bamenda to lay the foundation stone of the projects.
