This year’s Grade One Teacher’s Certificate examinations (or CAPIEMB in French) began across the country yesterday, June 14, 2016.

The Grade One Teacher’s Certificate qualifies holders to teach in nursery and primary schools.

According to sources in the Ministry of Secondary Education, some 11,999 candidates are sitting the examinations in all 10 regions.

Writing, which lasts till June 17, 2016, is taking place in 64 centres, it was also disclosed. Meanwhile, the Centre Region has the highest number of candidates, with 2,422.
