Health contracts signed to improve performance

Contracts have been concluded between the regional delegation at the Ministry of Health and three health districts.

"This goes in the context of the different approaches that the Ministry of public health takes in order to improve the offer and the State of health of our populations scaling indicators so that we can achieve the Millennium Development Goals".

Martin Yamba Beas, Director of public health for the Littoral, explains the rationale behind performance contracts signed between the Department and three health districts of the region Deido, Dibombari and Pouma Health districts with the project "Value for results", August 16 in Douala.

This public-public contract is based on 11 indicators, 11 axes around which will focus on the action of public health services. It will be to achieve "a level of 85% performance and for each quarter, the delegation will descend on the ground to assess the results," premiums in support, said Martin Yamba Beas.

Already, at the signing of these partnership agreements, a 2 million F cheque was presented to each of the districts in order to start their activities.

For Dr Oumarou Gnigninanjouena, head of the Deido health district, the first four challenges of the performance contract, which are part of the 11 indicators, turn around the health of the mother and the child. "We will focus initially on antenatal, childbirth, immunization and the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV", he details.
