Irate HND candidates destroy question papers

Journalism students for this year’s Higher National Diploma, HND, got angry and destroyed examination question papers.

The students who wrote at Yaoundé II and Golf of Guinea University Institute, Douala sub-centres got angry at the fact that the questions brought to them for the examination were questions meant for the students who studied institutional communication.

Students from both centres who spoke to Mutation revealed that they complained to the examiners and the invigilators, but it appears they were talking to drunken people, reason why they decided to tear the question papers. This, they said could not be ignored.

The examiners were forced to call the ministry of Higher Education to have the questions changed.

One of the examiners who spoke to mutation said it is not the first time such a thing is happening and that it is common in Journalism examinations.

He said the reason is that some individuals at the higher education ministry take upon themselves to do the job of others. The ministry is made up of “certified illiterates”, he said.

A highly placed source at the ministry confirmed that they were errors in the questions and said that no student will be sanction on what happened during the examinations.
